The CDIO Compiegne, a 5* fixture on the international dressage calendar and one of the most beloved annual competitions by many, will not take place in 2026.
Grand Prix first reported that show having been dropped from the FEI calendar.
The End of an Era
Compiegne first hosted a 3* CDI in 2010. In 2013 they were the venue for the European Junior / Young Riders Championships and as of 2016 they were part of the FEI Nations Cup series. Only in the 2020 corona year did the competition not take place.
Show director Monique Marini told Grand Prix that "difficulties in finding sponsors to ensure the event's sustainability and in mobilizing volunteers before the competition, even though they always show up during competition week. However, she does not rule out reviving the competition in the future, if solutions to these problems present themselves."
FEI Nations Cup
Only last week Donaueschingen announced that it was forced to cancel its 2025 CDI due to organisational problems.
