Reiterjournal reported that the 2025 CHI Donaueschingen on 18 - 21 September 2025 has been cancelled. This international competition includes a CDI and is run by Matthias Rath's Schafhof Connects.

The 2025 edition has been cancelled but the 2026 edition will continue as planned.

"The long-term development of the competition at the high standard of our 2024 premiere is our top priority," Rath explained. "After close consultation with the city of Donaueschingen and the Furstenhaus, we have therefore decided to postpone the CHI Donaueschingen to 2026."

Rath continued, "our goal is to offer riders, horses, and spectators an event of the absolute highest standard. To meet this goal, we are deliberately taking more time, pooling our resources, and now looking forward to the CHI Donaueschingen 2026 with great energy."

In the past decade the organisation of Donaueschingen was n the hands of Escon Marketing before Rath's company Schafhof Connects took over. The show has been on-and off in recent years. In 2021 it had to cancel the 2021 European Under 25 Championships, which moved to Hagen. In 2023 there was no CDI.

Donaueschingen is a historic equestrian venue in German horse sport history. In 1991 it hosted the European Dressage Championships.
