Bundeschampionate Finalist Saluna W Sold as German Children's Horse

Saluna W, an Oldenburg elite mare and double Bundeschampionate finalist, has been sold as a German children rider's hopeful.

Saluna W is a 6-year old Oldenburg mare by Secret out of Wenecia (by Wolkenstein II x Matcho AA). She is bred by Roland Wünschel.

Oldenburg Elite Mare

Initially owned by Hans-Jürgen Wilbert, the chestnut mare first came into the spotlight at the 2023 Oldenburg Elite Mare Show in Rastede, where she made it into the Brilliant Ring and was one of the unranked mares.

The mare was first trained and competed by her next owner, Julia Schulte, who debuted her in sport in September 2022 in Menslage. As a 4-year old in 2023, Saluna competed in 16 tests at local shows, including winning at the Oldenburg Young Horse Championships in Rastede. In 2024 the pair showed extensively at L-level, including winning the Oldenburg Young horse Championship again and placing sixth at the Bundeschampionate in Warendorf. Schulte trains with Sandra Kötter and Dennis Ripphoff.

Schulte campaigned Saluna W through May 2025 after which the ride was passed on to Kira Goerens-Ripphoff, who rode her as a guinea pig (to test the the judges system) at the World Young horse Championships in Verden. At the 2025 Bundeschampionate they were 5th in the 6-year old finals.

Children Hopeful

Schulte has now sold Saluna W to Dr. Anne-Sofie Hohl for her daughter Cecilia Marie Hohl to ride.

Cecilia made her show debut in Germany at E and A- level in September 2024 aboard pony WS Mr Berny (by FS Mr Right x FS Champion de Luxe) and has been gaining mileage ever since at shows in north Germany.
