Valerian, High Scorer of the 2026 Vechta Shortened Suitability Stallion Test

Valerian became the high scoring stallion in the shortened suitability for licensed stallions which was held at the Oldenburg Horse Center in Vechta on 26 - 28 January 2025. 

Thirty rising 4-year old stallions (born 2022) competed in the test, one dropped out. Ten scored over 8,00 points, five scored less than 7.0.

The best scoring stallion was the Hanoverian Valerian (by Va Pensiero x De Niro), bred by Thomas Heuer and is listed as owned by Franziska Erley's company Flicka Ventures GmbH. He scored a total of 8,87 points with 8.1 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 9.5 for rideability and 9 for willingness to perform. He was ridden by Santiago Damil.

Framington (by Franklin x Romanov) scored 8,64 points with 8 for walk, 8.6 for trot, 8.8 for canter, 9 for rideability and 8.6 for willingness. He is bred by Pferdezucht P&S. This stallion has been competed by Jacbob Schenk.

The third best score was 8,55 points achieved by Desigual (by Debutant PS x), followed by 8,52 points achieved by Vespasiano (by Viva Gold).
