Australian Under 25 Grand Prix rider Kate Kyros has sold her big tour schoolmaster Chemistry to Denmark. The sale took place half a year ago.
Chemistry is 2012 born KWPN stallion by Connaisseur out of Cendea (by Johnson). He is bred in The Netherlands by G. Verrijt and was originally named Hurricane.
John Thompson
New Zealand Grand Prix rider John Thompson discovered the black stallion in The Netherlands in 2016 when the horse was four. He imported him to New Zealand, where he trained him up to Grand Prix level.
In 2020 Thompson moved to Australia and made his CDI debut on Chemistry at Boneo in January 2020, where he scored 69.326% in his first Grand Prix. They also showed at Bawley Point that year before the corona pandemic hit.
Thompson sold the stallion to the Kyros family in 2021, but retained the ride through 2022. In that year they showed at Boneo, Bawley Point and Sydney to qualify on the New Zealand team for the World Championships in Herning, Denmark, where they scored 68.059% to finish 63rd in the Grand Prix.
Kate Kyros

In 2024 she flew the horse to Wellington, Florida, to gain miles at the Global Dressage Festival and won 9 CDI classes in a row at U25 level. Chemistry then joined Kyros on her European campaign and showed in Olomouc, and Jardy, before returning home to Australia where they competed at the CDI Caboolture.
Kate returned to Europe to train with Ton de Ridder in Aachen, Germany, but Chemistry stayed down under and the ride was allocated to Jayden Brown, who showed him at the CDI Werribee in March 2025 to place second in the Grand Prix with 66.087%. Chemistry was the flown back to Europe where Kate competed him one last time at the CDI Deauville in July 2025 in the U25 division.
