Six stallions were accepted for breeding at the 2026 Norwegian Warmblood stallion licensing held at Vallermyrene in Porsgrunn, Norway. Only two of those were dressage bred
Norwegian warmblood relies heavily on Danish warmblood breeding for its dressage programme.
The stallions are assessed in hand and under saddle and get allocated a score by the licensing committee. The best scoring stallion was Soros Darwin (pictured), a Danish warmblood by Hesselhoj Donkey Boy x Sezuan, bred by Linda Solberg Vikeby and Christer Rognlie. The chestnut is owned by Helena and Pontus Liholt Gulli and scored a total of 8,12 points.
The committee described him as, "a fairly large, uphill, but narrowly built stallion of good type. Smooth, rhythmic gaits. A hard-working horse, well prepared. Three rhythmic gaits. Good back elasticity when reaching forward and down."
The licensed dressage stallions are
- Dille Rebellion (DWB, by Revolution x Torveslettens Sylvester) - Breeder & Owner: Carolin Dille
- Soros Darwin (DWB, by Hesselhoj Donkey Boy x Sezuan) - Breeder: Linda Solberg Vikeby & Christer Rognlie - Owner: Helena and Pontus Liholt Gulli
