The 2026 CDIO Hagen begins tomorrow and is for many countries a final WEG team observation trial as well as opportunity to achieve MER scores for Aachen.
With the 4* Grand Prix kicking off tomorrow at Hof Kasselmann and the CDIO Nations Cup Grand Prix on Friday 3 June, the line-up of entries has been slightly changed with two team horses dropping from the CDIO starters' field.
Team USA
The American team for the FEI Nations Cup sees Anna Marek and her World Cup finals ride Fayvel drop out. The 16-year old Fayvel is by Zizi Top x Houston and owned by Cynthia Davila. The pair failed to compete at the mandatory 2026 U.S. Grand Prix Championships but got short-listed for the Euro tour nonetheless and were entered to compete on the US team in Hagen.
Marek has been substituted by Geñay Vaughn and Gino, a 2011 KWPN gelding (by Bretton Woods x Haarlem) owned by Michele Vaughn. They will compete on the team alongside Meagan Davis, Jordan LaPlaca, and Christian Simonson.
Team Sweden
Tinne Vilhelmson and Hyatt, members of the Swedish team at the 2025 European Championships in Crozet, were entered to represent Sweden in Hagen but have cancelled their entry.
"Sometimes it just doesn't go the way you planned. Before departure to Hagen, Hyatt unfortunately sustained an injury. She is now checked by a veterinarian and we have jointly decided not to continue our commitment to the World Championships," Vilhelmson communicated.
Tinne is still traveling to Hagen to coach her assistant Caroline Darcourt and Bournonville.
Stefan Jansson is captain of Team Sweden in Aachen and left with three riders: Darcourt, Cecila Bergakra (My Friend) and Rebecca Mauleon (Johnnie Walker).
