Ulla Salzgeber, began her riding career with vaulting at the age of 10. In 1977 she was the European Team Champion of Young Riders, under her maiden name, Helbing. After completing law school she began building a training stable for dressage, located in Bad Worishofen, Germany. Married to Sebastian Salzgeber, they have one daughter, Kim. For three years now she has been training with Chef d'Equipe Johan Hinnemann.
Shown here on her 1998 World Equestrian Games mount Rusty 047, at Aachen 1997, where she placed 8th in The Grand Prix Special. At Aachen 1998 she won the same class, securing her position on the German Dressage Team for WEG. The Russian warmblood Rusty of an unknown origin excells in his extended trot and piaffe-passage reprises. In Rome the combination topped a score of 79.24% in the Kur to Music. Ranked third she received the individual bronze medal.
Ulla is also competing two FEI horses in the international show circuit. Dressmann is successfully shown at Prix St. Georges, while Wall Street follows in the footsteps of Rusty at Grand Prix level.
