Former Dutch Grand Prix team member Jeannette Haazen is back for the big time. Riding the Belgian warmblood stallion Quicksilver, Haazen made her come back to the international Grand Prix arena
at the international World Cup qualifier in Ksiaz, Poland. Winning the Intermediaire II with 69.65%, finishing third in the Grand Prix with 70.50% and third in the freestyle with 74.80%, Haazen is extremely pleased with the performances of her grey stallion.
Haazen rode her first national Grand Prix test at the Zwolle stallion show in which she finished 6th with 64,10%. One week before the CDI-W Ksiaz, Haazen saddled the stallion for the national show in Breda, but there was too much tension in their ride. In Ksiaz, the combination spiced up their act and scored internationally respected scores.
"I hope that I can ride more World Cup qualifiers, so that I can get qualification points, but of course I need to get a ride permit to compete in the World Cup Qualifiers. I have to do some waiting to see how it goes," an optimistic Haazen explained.
Quicksilver is a 10-year old registered Belgian warmblood stallion by Latano x Touck of Fairway xx and is licensed for the Anglo European Studbook and for the SBS studbook. He was discovered by Peter Pieters, who competed him at the 1997 Belgian Championships for young dressage horses. Haazen purchased the stallion when he was six and showed him at the 1999 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Arnhem, The Netherlands.
