Right after the sale of Ray of Light, Willem Jan Schotte sold his other FEI horse Goubergh's Ideaal to the United States. Through the mediation of Claes Bierenbroodpot, Ideaal has been sold as a schoolmaster

to the 58-year old Carol Lorenz from Mount Ary, U.S.A.

Willem Jan Schotte discovered Ideaal (Kaiserstern xx x Magnaat) as a 6-year old and competed him at fourth level before putting him in training with Hubertus Schmidt, who brought along the bay gelding to Grand Prix level. Schotte's biggest Grand Prix success on Ideaal was in 2000 at the Dutch Dressage Championships, where he finished 9th overall.

"It all come together really quickly, but it was always my intention to sell Ideaal and Ray of Light," Schotte told Karin de Haan. "It was a bit difficult for me to let him go. I had him for 9-years in total."
