Dutch equestrian website Horses.nl reported that Dutch junior rider Anne Meulendijks has received two extra FEI horses at her disposal. Meulendijks, who is the 2010 Dutch Junior Riders Champion, will be riding Broere Phoenix and Montecristo.
One year ago Anne Meulendijks acquired the Grand Prix horse Ohio (by Indoctro) from Broere Stud in Ablasserdam, The Netherlands, and within weeks she became the shooting star of the Netherlands in her age division. The Meulendijks family established in strong contact with Mr. Broere and came to an agreement about two more horses. The Meulendijk sisters will also get to ride the 16-year old Grand Prix horse Montecristo (by El Corona) and the 13-year old small tour horse Phoenix (by Jazz).
Kristen Beckers, head rider at Broere Stud, told Horses.nl that "recently the Meulendijks were looking for a schoolmaster for their daughters and we didn't really have a rider for Monty and Phoenix. The connection was made quickly and Anne and Lotte came here to try out the horses. It clicked really well."
