The German Equestrian Federation announced the team qualification events for the German pony, junior and young riders which hope to become team members to compete at the 2011 European Pony, Junior and Young Riders Championships next summer.
Germany dominated the junior and young riders' division at this year's European Championships in Kronberg. Charlott Maria Schurman became the European Junior Rider Champion and Fabienne Lutkemeier won triple gold in the Young Riders' divisions. Lutkemeier moved on to the senior division and Schurmann will be a young rider in 2011.
The road to the 2010 European Championships this year will be the same for the pony, junior and Young Riders. Riders can qualify via three official team selection events:
- 20-22 May 2011: Preis der Besten Warendorf: A and B-team selection
- 10-12 June: CDI
Wiesbaden: First EC-selection trial - 01-03 July: CDI-PJYR Neubeeren: Second EC-selection trial
The 2011 European Pony Championships are held in Jaszkowo, Poland (26 - 31 July 2011), the 2011 European Junior and Young Riders Championships take place in Broholm, Denmark (21 - 24 July 2011).
