The 5-year old chestnut gelding Fuchur became the price highlight of the 2017 Westfalian winter auction Handorf Extra in Munster, Germany on 22 January 2017.
Bred by Berthold Völker and owned by Christip Rawert, Fuchur is by Furst Piccolo x Laureus. The chestnut sold for 55,000 euro to Bavaria.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old bay gelding Dagur (by Dankeschön x Hohenstein). Bred and owned by Heiko Schutzek, Dagur sold for 34,000 euro.
Two horses sold for 33,000 euro: Christoph Rawert's 4-year old liver chestnut gelding Daimler (by Dankeschön x Ehrentusch) and Torsten Ohlemeyer's 4-year old bay gelding Vanderbilt (by Vitalis x Daddy Cool).
A total of 39 sport horses and 11 youngsters born in 2014 were sold at this auction. The most expensive youngster was Markus Schulze-Finkenbrink's dark bay colt Furst Roland (by Franziskus x Florenciano) which switched owners for 33,000 euro. Adolf Schurf's bay stallion Figaro (by Farbenspiel x Fiderglanz) sold for 32,000 euro.
The average price for a sport horse at this auction was 18,474 euro. The youngsters sold for an average of 21,000 euro.
