The recently licensed 4-year old stallion Aubameyang (by Ampere x De Niro) became the price highlight of the 2017 Westfalian Spring Elite Auction in Münster-Handorf, Germany, on 9 April 2017.
Aubameyang is bred by breeders' group Oppermann and was owned by Frederik Vekens. He sold for 71,000 euro to Scotland.
The second most expensive horse was the 4-year old chestnut mare Fenja (by Franziskus x Londonderry). Bred and owne dby Hubert Holtkamp, she sold for 65,000 euro to the Holstein area.
Carlos Montero's 4-year old chestnut mare Dolly Hudson (by Dresemann x Florestan) sold for 50,000 euro to Loxer Saxony.
The most expensive show jumper was the 5-year old bay stallion Quendolin (by Quipeggio x Barring) sold for 60,000 euro to a local buyer.
Three foals sold for the top auction price of 15,000 euro: Up 'n Sande's bay colt Franco Baresi (by Frascino x Belissimo M), Beate Growe's bay colt Faber Castell (by Farbenspiel x Love Me) and Wolfgang Kaiser's black colt Quandolero (by Quantensprung x Donnerhall).
A total of 38 horses were licensed and they achieved an average price of 26,474 euro. Eighteen foals were up for auction and they achieved an average price of 8,250 euro.
