Dutch based dressage riders Katja Gevers and her husband Tristan Tucker welcomed a second daughter, Liva Maeve, to their family on 19 February 2021 The couple is already parents to daughter Izzy.
Former German youth team rider Carde Meyer gave birth to a baby boy, Kilian. This is the second child for 35-year old Meyer and her partner Christoph Fitz. They also have a son, Caspar. Carde represented Germany at the 2000 and 2001 European Pony Championships on Samorai and Keep Cool and later competed Furst Fido at the 2003 European Junior Riders Championships. Meyer also rode team pony DHI Langar at the Bundeschampionate as a youngster. Although Meyer has not competed internationally since her youth time, she is still active on the German scene with horse Surabaya M (by San Amour) and Fontenay (by Furstenball). Meyer is a graphic designer by profession running her own firm since 2012. Carde's sister Svenja Kämper-Meyer is also a former German pony team rider and combines her time on horses with being an orthodontist.
Former Dutch international Grand Prix rider Jenny Schreven and her husband Alain Broft welcomed their first child on Valentin's Day, 14 February 2021. Schreven delivered a healthy baby girl named Elise Alina Broft.
Former Dutch team rider Danielle Heijkoop gave birth to her first child on 27 February 2021. She and her partner Joey Lems welcomed a baby girl, Mila. The baby was born in Franciscus hospital in Rotterdam.
At the 2021 TC Elite Auction, a new online auction organized by Mateusz Cichon, this time in partnership with Tyszko, the 3-year old Frederic (by Franklin x Weltstein) became the top seller for 48,500 euro. The auction also included jumpers. The second most expensive dressage horse was the 4-year old Hanoverian bred Red Revolution (by Revolution x Dancier) which sold for 33,000 euro. Both will stay in Poland.
The Oldenburg licensed stallion Floyd (by Furstenball x Sandro Hit x Donnerhall) has been partly sold to Team Nijhoff. The 3-year old black stallion is bred by Rolf-Peter Schulz and was owned by Eugene Reesink and Stable Turfhorst. The two Dutch stallion owners now sold a share to Nijhoff.
Eugene Reesink purchased the recently approved KWPN premium stallion Next Pitch US (by Geniaal x Blue Hors Hotline). The bay stallion is bred by Suzanne Smeeing and Wouter Lodder of Unlimited Stables in Lunteren, The Netherlands. Dinja van Liere will take on the training of the young stallion. Reesink's 3-year old KWPn stallion Nero (by In Style x Oscar), who was rejected at the 2021 KWPN licensing, has been approved for Oldenburg. The bay colt will stand at stud at Rene Tebbel's yard in Germany.
Taiwanese dressage rider Yu Heng Lee has acquired Fransje van der Meer's small tour horse, the 10-year old KWPN gelding Goliath (by Westpoint x Contango x Ferro). Van der Meer purchased the dark bay as a foal. He was first trained by Sarah van der Meer up to Z-level after which Fransje took over. The 180 cm standing gelding has been purchased by Lee as an Asian Games hopeful through Janneke van Riet.
Two of Andreas Helgstrand's stallions did an extraordinary 35-day stallion performance test in Torring, Denmark, because they had minor injuries at the time of the traditional autumn testing and could not particpate. A special "medical performance test" was organized for So Perfect (by Sezuan x Sir Donnerhall) and Sir Floresco (by Sir Heinrich x Floresco). So Perfect was a premium stallion at the Danish Warmblood licensing and now scored 842 points in his performance test. Sir Floresco got licensed at the 2019 Westfalian licensed and scored 808 points in his Danish performance test. He is yet to seek approval for Danish warmblood.
