Eight 3-year old colts passed the mandatory observation test for colts newly licensed at the 2021 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing.

The 10-day observation test annually takes place at the Tørring equestrian centre and immediately follows the DWB stallion licensing.

The 10-day is a character and rideability test in which the behaviour of the young colts is inspected in the stable, being handled and under saddle. The stallions who pass the test can start breeding this year. They will have to do a 35-day performance test in the autumn of 2021.

Some stallions will stay four more days in Tørring to fulfil the requirements of a German 14-day test, in which also the gaits and rideability and potential are assessed.

The colts that passed the 10-day test are:

  • Sønderskovens Don Avicii (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Blue Hors Don Romantic), bred by Johanne & Lars Juul, and owned by Skovrider International
  • Gørklintgårds Millíon (by Millennium x Sunny-Boy), bred and owned by Jørgen Ravn
  • MSJ Q (by Quantensprung x Bordeaux), bred by Mount St. John and owned by HP Horses
  • Renomé (by Revolution x Sieger Hit), bred by Minna Petersen & Thorkild Karger and owned by Priess Horses
  • Midt-West Evolution (by Revolution x Jazz), bred and owned by Stutteri Midt-West / Poul Erik Nielsen
  • Blue Hors Spectrum (by Sezuan x Sandro Hit), bred by Stutteri Pax and owned by Blue Hors
  • Veyron Hena (by Vitalis x L'Espoir), bred and owned by Alexandra & Søren Buchreitz
  • Hesselhøj Donkey Boss (by Hesselhøj Donkey Boy x Blue Hors Zack), bred and owned by Hesselhøj / Anders Hoeck

Helgstrand Dressage decided not to send its 12 (!) newly accepted 3-year olds to the 10-day observation test because of concerns due to the EHV-1 outbreak. Without a 10-day observation test stallions are not allowed to breed for Danish warmblood.
