Italian Team Pony Chantre Finds New Rider for 2023

Ludovica Camerlengo's Italian team pony Chantre has found a new rider for the 2023 show season. The seasoned pony will continue being a schoolmaster for Italian pony rider Alessandro Bonaglio.

Chantre is a 19-year old Rhinelander stallion by FS Champion de Luxe x Desteny.

Germany

The liver chestnut stallion started his career in sport as a young pony in 2009 under Janina Tietze. He was trained and competed by her in Germany up to S** level.

In 2015 he became the ride for German Laura Stuhldreier who competed him through 2018. The pair made its international show debut in 2017 in Nieuw en St. Joosland and also showed at CDI's in Saumur, Uggerhalne, and Zakrzow.

Austria

Chantre sold to Austrian Felicita Simoncic in the autumn of 2018.

The new pair debuted at the 2019 CDI Wiener Neustadt with a victory in the individual test and two second places at this show.

Felicita steered the liver chestnut stallion to two European Pony Championships. In 2019 they were 24th in the individual test at the Euros in Strzegom and in 2020 they finished 12th in the Kur to Music Finals in Pilisjasfalu.

Italy

In the autumn of 2020 Chantre was offered for sale on Eurodressage and the pony sold as a birthday surprise to Italian pony rider Ludovica Camerlengo.

Camerlengo made her first international start at the CDI Ornago in May 2021 and clinched a nomination for the 2021 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, where they were 38th in the individual test.

In 2022 the pair competed at CDI's in San Giovanni, Ornago, Opglabbeek, Lipica and Hagen before heading to the 2022 European Pony Championships in Strzegom, where they placed 34th in the individual test. Their last CDI start as a pair was in Ornago in October 2022 where they won the team test and placed second twice.

Tutto Dressage now reported that Chantre will not be retired from sport just yet, but continue as a professor for Alessandra Bonaglio
