Former Swedish Grand Prix team rider Antonia Ramel is sidelined with an injury. The 37-year old sustained a knee injury and cannot ride for a while, as she communicated on social media.

The Dutch based Antonia Ramel explained that, "due to a severe injury in my knee I will unfortunately not be able to participate this year in Hagen and probably not Compiègne. I hope that 6-8 weeks recovery will do it."

After the soft retirement of her number one, the 17-year old KWPN gelding Brother de Jeu (by Voice x Jazz) which took her to the 2019 European Championships and 2021 Olympic Games, Ramel continued her sport career with the 14-year old Holsteiner Curiosity (by Clinsmann x Carpaccio) and the 10-year old KWPN gelding Iejoor (by Charmeur x UB40).

Ramel competed Curiosity internationally in 2022 in Neumunster, 's hertogenbosch, Hagen, Compiegne, Aachen and Fot, and Lyon. With Iejoor she made her international Grand Prix debut at the CDI Lier at the start of March 2023.

Both horses were scheduled to compete again in Hagen and Compiegne, but their start has been postponed due to the injury.

"I was so much looking forward to going to Hagen with Q and Compiègne with Q and maybe also Iejoor. But we’ll come back," she stated. "For now I need to learn to take it easy, I’m not the best with that. But I’ll do what ever brings me back as fast as possible! Horses are in top shape! So now one of (sp) Marjolijn takes the reins over for a couple of weeks!"
