The small tour at the 2023 CDI Hagen - The Autumn Edition - on 21 - 24 September 2023 featured a field of no less than 28 competitors from 13 different countries. This international potpourri brought various levels of riding down the centerline but the trophies were collected by experienced, home hero Frederic Wandres.
Hof Kasselmann's resident head rider Frederic Wandres saddled the 11-year old Hanoverian Quizmaster (by Quasar de Charry x Velten Third) for the small tour. He won the Prix St Georges with 75.588% and the Intermediaire I with 73.206%.
Quizmaster is a seasoned competitor, competing at the Bundeschampionate as a 3-year old under Jessica Lynn Thomas. At the 2015 Hanoverian Autumn elite auction he sold for 180,000 euro to Luxembourg's Patrice Mourruau and the ride went to Sascha Schulz who earned bronze at the 2016 Bundeschampionate and competed him at the 2017 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses. The horse then moved and sold to Hof Kasselmann and Frederic Wandres has been training him since.
In the Prix St Georges the runner-up was Anna-Marie Prahl aboard the 14-year old KWPN gelding Entertainer (by Jazz x Ulft) with 71.323%. Trained by Wolfram Wittig, she landed fifth place in the Inter I with 70.824%.
Danish Olympian Nathalie zu Sayn-Wittgenstein has been carefully producing Blue Hors Fifty Cent (by Franziskus x Donnerball), bred by Linda Falensteen and Martin Strange at Stutteri Fredensdal in Denmark. The beautiful liver chestnut was third in the Prix St Georges with 70.441% and second in the Inter I with 72.206%.
