Canadian Under 25 Grand Prix rider Brooke Mancusi has added a new horse to her collection, Grand Prix schoolmaster DeJohn.

Dejohn is a 16-year old Dutch warmblood by Johnson out of Saloniki (by Sandro Hit x Waitaro). He is bred by the family Dorgeloos-Mannens at stud farm De Kleine in Susteren, The Netherlands.

Dimacho

Originally named Dimacho, the bay gelding sold to Bermuda's Rozalind Collins and her son-in-law Agusti Elias. The horse moved to Barcelona, Spain.

He made his international show debut as a 6-year old at the home show, CDI Barcelona in March 2014 under Annabelle Collins. He competed in Barcelona, Pompadour and Vierzon in the 6-year old tests.

In 2015 he moved up to small tour level and shows in the Prix St Georges and Intermediaire classes through 2016 at CDI's in Deauville, Le Mans, Lier, Valencia Oliva Nova, Segovia, and Mallorca.

Dimacho was produced to Grand Prix level by Agusti Elias and after a three-year break from the international arena he returned at Grand Prix level in 2019 with Elias at the CDI Nice, followed by the CDI Camarma de Esteruelas.

Later in 2019 Dimacho sold to Javier Bacariza and Yeguada de Ymas in Spain and was renamed DeJohn Ymas.

He was trained and competed by their in-house rider, Spaniard Pablo Gomez Molina. The pair premiered in the U.S.A., where Ymas has a winter based in Wellington, Florida. They first competed in July 2020 at Intermediaire II level and got 70.294%.

Gomez stayed in the U.S.A. during the corona pandemic and showed the horse there through 2022 before being able to return to Europe.  They showed in two CDI's as a pair that summer of 2022: in Meerle (BEL), followed by Samorin (SVK).

Their last competition start was in February 2023 in a national Grand Prix class in Wellington.

Canada

DeJohn has now been sold to Canadian Brooke Mancusi.

Originally from Winnipeg, Mancusi is a team bronze medal winner at the 2018 North American Junior Riders Championships. She tragically lost her Young riders' horse Grand Amour right before departure to the 2021 North American Young Riders Championships this summer. Shortly afterwards the family acquired Kalisto Sollenburg (by Eye Catcher x Rousseau) in The Netherlands.  In 2022 she showed Kalisto and Wellknown (by Wynton x Havidoff)

Last year Brooke's main competition horses were Jill Irving's Grand Prix horse Arthur (by Jazz x Contango), Kalisto, and Melbourne (by Ferdeaux x Krack C) which she showed at national level in Canada. With Arthur she was member of the gold medal winning team at the inaugural 2023 North American Under 25 championships.

The 23-year old Mancusi is a long-time student of Brittany Fraser-Beaulieu.
