The Austrian Equestrian Federation (OEPS) has made its nomination for its dressage team for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.
The OEPS-nomination will be ratified by the Austrian Olympic Committee (OOC).
The Austrian Olympic dressage team that has been recommended, includes:
- Florian Bacher - Fidertraum OLD
- Victoria Max-Theurer - Abegglen
- Christian Schumach - Te Quiero SF
- reserve: Stefan Lehfellner - Roberto Carlos MT
OEPS President and 1980 Olympic champion Elisabeth Max-Theurer is delighted with the large Austrian equestrian delegation.
"Two complete teams in the dressage and show jumping disciplines, plus two individual places in eventing. That is an impressively large team that has qualified for the 2024 Olympic Games with outstanding performances," she said.
Max-Theurer continued, "I know that our teams have set high goals, which of course makes sense from a sporting perspective. But I also know that this always depends on the form of the day, the conditions on site, and many other factors. As President of the Austrian Equestrian Federation and Vice President of the Austrian Olympic Committee, the welfare of the horses is always my first priority. Without our sports partners we riders would be nothing. So I am always happy when Team Austria sets an example and stands for values such as sporting fairness and horse welfare. Far from the results lists, it is this sportive behaviour that counts most for me!"
