Franziska Stieglmaier's self produced Grand Prix horse Diamond Head has been sold to the U.S.A. The 11-year old chestnut gelding has moved to Wellington, Florida.

Diamond Head is a 2013 born Brandenburger bred gelding by Damon Hill out of Montana (by Montezuma x Horrid xx). He is bred by Ralph and Carsten Vogel at Gestüt Radegast.

The chestnut was discovered as a 3-year old by Stieglmaier and produced to Grand Prix level by herself.

She only started competing the gelding when he was 7 in 2020 at L and M-level. In 2021 they did their first Intermediaire A and in 2022 they hit Grand Prix level. In the next years Franziska showed the horse in her region to establish him at GP level.

The pair made its international show debut at the 2024 CDI Stadl Paura in Austria, where they posted 66.869% in the Grand Prix and 68.575% in the Special. They headed to the CDI Wiesbaden, but got rung out there.

This summer they showed nationally in Ingolstadt and Neu-Anspach, finishing first twice and second twice.

U.S. Bound

Three weeks ago, Stieglmaier announced that her horse has been sold.

"After 8 great years together my HD has now found a new absolute dream home," she said. "As a three year old he came here straight from the breeder and he matured from youngster to Grand Prix winner. I am letting my boy go with a smile and a tear in my eye, because I know he will have a wonderful time and spend his old age with his new owner - I will definitely come and visit you. Say hello to your little big sister from me, my big one."

Diamond Head will move to Kyle Lourie's TYL Farm, where 2022 U.S. WEG Team Rider Katie Duerhammer is based. His full sister DSP Dauphin is also in the U.S.A with Pennsylvania based rider Christina Morin-Graham.

TYL Farm  welcomed three new horses in a short period of time: Vividus QRE, L'Amour, and Diamond Head.
