The celebrated arrival of German young horse professional Hannah Laser at Gut Schönweide was only short lived. Laser left after six months.
She has been replaced by Ann-Kathrin Lachemann.
Hannah Laser
The 29-year old Laser began her professional career as head rider at Klosterhof Medingen in Medingen, where she worked for seven years. In that time her biggest achievements were finishing 6th at the 2021 World Young Horse Championships in Verden and winning the Bundeschampionate twice.
With the new generation in charge at Klosterhof a sudden change in their team was made in February 2024 and Laser got replaced by Jacob Schenk. Hannah began working for Tessa Frank in May but lasted only two months there.
In July she moved to the Swiss owned and Holstein based state-of-the-art stallion station Gut Schönweide, which thrilled the hearts of many as the top quality stallions there would probably benefit from her skill and appetitive to compete. She showed Viktor Schönweide, Follow Up, Venecia OLD, and flagship stallion Sky, with whom she finished 7th in the 6-year old finals at the 2024 Bundeschampionate.
Laser has decided on 19 December 2024 to leave Schönweide, stating that "after a short but very successful 2024 season with the horses at Gut Schönweide, we will part ways again at the end of the year due to different goals and values."
Hannah will be going independent but has not yet decided upon a location from where she'll be working.
Ann-Kathrin Lachemann
Gut Schönweide has now hired Ann-Kathrin Lachemann and she will begin her first day on 1 February 2025.
The 25-year old "Aki" has built up a biggest international career in her time so far. She debuted on the CDI scene in 2020 as a young rider aboard her own Fransje (by United x Silvano N) and rode Under 25 with the mare in 2021. She trained with Katrin Burger at the time.
For the past 2.5 years Ann-Kathrin was based at Deuerer's Erdbeerhof in Baden Wurttemberg, where she worked with Oliver Luze. In 2023 and 2024 she showed Deuerer's Florida's Dream (by Fahrenheit x Diamond Hit) in the small tour and Deuerer's Clara Korn (by Carabas x Lauries Crusador xx) in Under 25.
