Inaugural Mythos Mantovani Event: Showcase of Investment Horses and Retirement of Escorial

The inaugural Mythos Mantovani event held on 31 January 2025 marked the beginning of many exclusive events to come for this new brand, a collaboration between the Portuguese horse investment company Mantovani Horses and the Spanish equestrian center Mythos in Madrid.

At this portfolio showcase over 80 VIP guests, including breeders, investors, and enthusiasts, were welcomed to attend a live show that was broadcast on ClipMyHorse.tv to ensure top-quality streaming and world wide coverage.

A total of 20 horses performed, featuring a mix of ridden horses, mares, and youngsters. The night’s biggest highlights included Bundeschampion Señorita la Bonita, rising Grand Prix horse Nuelo das Lezírias,, and a spectacular retirement performance by Escorial to close the evening.

Escorial's Retirement from Sport

Mantovani's flagship stallion and Olympic Grand Prix horse Escorial has been officially retired from competition sport. The purebred Lusitano stallion (by Spartacus x Jiboia by Edo) is one of Portugal's best producers of dressage horses and recently received unprecedented recognition as Germany's four most influential studbooks (Westfalen, Oldenburg, Hanover, and DSP) all approved him.

"Bringing Escorial into our family was the greatest decision of my life," said owner Thiago Mantovani. "He is more than a stallion— he is a legend, the King of Lusitanos. With João Oliva, he carved his name on the world’s grandest stages, proving that Lusitanos belong at the pinnacle of dressage."

Thiago continued, "Escorial made history by being accepted into four major German warmblood studbooks proving his unparalleled ability to enhance warmbloods for the sport. This is an unprecedented opportunity in a market still taking shape. It has never happened before, and Escorial is leading the way."

Escorial's rider, Brazilian Joao Victor Marcari Oliva, saw his professional career launched to new levels thanks to the talented stallion.

"Escorial is a horse I hold in the highest regard, not just because of our journey together, but because of who he is as an athlete," said Joao. "He has been more than just a horse to me; he has been a great teacher, shaping me not only as a rider but also as a person. He is living proof that size means nothing—modest in the stable, yet immense in the arena. I can only be grateful for everything we have experienced together."
