2020 German Young Riders Champion Luca Sophia Collin has secured the PSI Auction star and Nurnberger Burgpokal Finalist Budhi as her Under 25 hopeful.

Budhi is a 9-year old Oldenburg stallion Budhi (by Bordeaux x Likoto xx x Rinaldo). He is bred by Hubert and Maria Kasselmann-de Kuyper.

His full sister, Bliss, is currently in training with American Olympian Ashley Holzer, while his full brother Bon Bibi will be auctioned in the 2020 PSI Auction on 6 December 2020.

He sold at the 2015 P.S.I. Auction in Ankum to Russian investor Elena and Sergey Knyaginichev.

Budhi continued his training at Hof Kasselmann in Germany and was competed by Nicole Wego. The pair were fourth at the 2017 Oldenburg Young Horse Championships and went on to finish 7th in the consolation finals at the 2017 Bundeschampionate.

In 2018 the talented Budhi was competed in the Nurnberger Burgpokal qualifier for Developing Prix St Georges horses and qualified for the Finals by placing second in Darmstadt.

In 2019 he showed that the small tour movements have been consolidated at Prix St Georges/Intermediaire I level by starting at the CDI Riesenbeck, winning both classes. That year he also tackled the Nurnberger burgpokal circuit once again with competition starts in Hagen, Redefin, Munich and Verden.

Most recently, Wego competed the stallion in the Louisdor Cup qualifier for Developing Grand Prix horses at the CDN Hagen and CDN Verden.

Budhi has now been purchased by the Collin family as a Under 25 hopeful for 19-year old Luca.

Luca made her big international break through as a Young Rider in 2020 riding her 10-year old Hanoverian gelding Descolari (by Desperados x Weltmeyer) onto the German team and winning team silver at the 2020 European Young Riders Championships in Pilisjaszfalu, Hungary, in August.

Two weeks later Collin put the icing on the cake and grabbed the national champion's title in the Young Riders division at the 2020 German Youth Riders Championships in Riesenbeck. Two weeks later the pair completed a hattrick and also swept all three YR classes at the CDI Hagen at the end of September.

The Essen based Collin is trained by Jochen Bender. She will now focus on Descolari and Budhi as her competition partners. Her 2019-2020 rides - the 14-year old Westrades Barack Obama (by Jazz x Abantos), the 12-year old Hanoverian gelding Finest Feeling M (by Fidertanz x Rubin Royal), and the 10-year old Rhinelander mare Loxley's Lovely (by Lord Loxley x Andantino) - have been sold.
