In one month time, German shooting star Luca Sophia Collin and Descolaro won team silver at the 2020 European Young Riders Championships and individual gold and national title at the 2020 German Youth Championships and scored a hattrick at the 2020 CDI Hagen.
Her 10-year old Hanoverian gelding Descolari (by Desperados x Weltmeyer) seemed to have lost no energy after this tiring schedule of traveling to Hungary and back and competing at the highest level of youth sport in Europe as well as Germany all within a 30-day time period. At the CDI Hagen the sympathetic duo was the flavour of the judges who rewarded them with big scores for a triple victory.
Collin and Descolari won the team test with 74.265%, the individual test with 74.412% and the freestyle with 77.725%, each time staying at least a full two percent ahead of her rivals.
The Young Riders field at the CDI Hagen counted 14 pairs from Germany, Holland, Denmark and Sweden. Collin's biggest rival was German Theresa Friesdorf and the formerly licensed Westfalian stallion Quotenkonig (by Quaterback x Furst Piccolo). Friesdorf and her liver chestnut gelding finished second three times with scores of 72.598%, 72.843% and 74.94%.
The third place in the three-class Young Riders division in Hagen was heavily contested. The third place in the team test went to Dutch Milou Dees and her talented 10-year old KWPN gelding Francesco (by Florencio x Krack C), while in the individual test the Danish Lea Andreassen Torabi slotted in third on Charlotte Haid-Bondergaard's former international Grand Prix horse, Roberto des Frettes, a 15-year old Lusitano gelding by Carinho des Noes x Boulou des Frettes. They scored 69.657%. In the Kur to Music the third spot went to German Emely van Loon aboard the 11-year old Baden Wurttemberger bred FBW Despereaux (by Don Diamond x Abanos). They scored 74.64% for their freestyle.
