The 13-year old Dutch pony rider Bridget Lock has become the new rider of the double Dutch young pony champion and European Championship team reserve Don Davino.

Don Davino is a 9-year old NRPS registered stallion by Don Carino du Bois out of the Dutch team pony mare Champ of Daily (by FS Don't Worry). He is bred by Harrie Melis.

Dam Champ of Daily competed at the 2019 European Pony Championships as member of the Dutch team under Floor van der Kuijl.

The palomino made his first claim of fame under Kim Noordijk, winning the 2017 and 2018 Dutch Young Pony Championships in the 5 and 6-year old division.

Owned by Dick Faro and Rijk-Jan Pleijter, Don Davino then made his FEI pony level debut under Lilli van den Hoogen, who ended up riding just one CDI with him, the 2019 CDI Waregem in Belgium where he finished fifth in the teal test (69.429%) and 17th in the individual test (64.099%).

In 2020 the pair competed in the Dutch team selection trials for the 2020 European Pony Championships in Budapest and ended up being selected as team reserves.

Van den Hoogen has reached the age limit and is moving on to horses. Don Davino has moved onto a new rider, the 13-year old Bridget Lock, who was the 2018 Dutch Pony champion with Forest Gump at L-level.

"I'm super happy and grateful with this super pony," said an ecstatic Lock. "I'm very curious what the future will bring for us. One thing is sure, I'll do my very best."

Lock and her second pony Nespresso (by FS Numero Uno), are members of the KNHS Talent Plan. The Lock family also sourced Nespresso in Van den Hoogen's barn.

Aside from Forest Gump and Nespresso, Lock also has the former German team pony Flamenco Star in her barn as a schoolmaster. Flamenco Star competed at the European Pony Championships with Annabel Frenzen (GER) and Alice Campanella (ITA).

Lock goes to the SSGN Top Sport School in Nijmeghen, which already allows her to combine her school duties with sport. She trains with Febe van Zwambagt.
