German A-squad Grand Prix rider and European eventing champion Ingrid Klimke has welcomed a new dressage horse into her barn, the licensed stallion Franz Jakob.

The dark bay is a 4-year old Bavarian bred DSP stallion by Franziskus x Diamond Hit, bred by Dagmar Reiter.

Under Kathrin Roida, Franz Jakob became the 2020 Bavarian Regional Young horse Champion in the 3- and 4-year old stallion class in Munich on an 8.1 score, which ranked them fourth in the class but he was the highest ranked Bavarian bred stallion.

In November 2020 he was presented at the DSP Saddle Licensing in Marbach and named premium licensed stallion. At the licensing he was listed as owned by the breeder. He has still to do his stallion suitability test.

"Franz Jakob came to us in January," said Klimke. "He's a real eye catcher. He is a modern, long legged and beautiful type with lovely eyes and three very good basic gaits. Nothing stands in his way to be trained as a dressage horse. For a change he also likes to jump and enjoys hacking and his time in the field."

Klimke cites Kathrin Roida, who runs Hofgut Ludwigshöhe, as the owner of the stallion.
