Austrian Paul Jöbstl and his new ride Bodyguard made the long trip to Belgium worth it by making a hattrick in the junior division at the 2021 CDI Sint-Truiden on 16 - 18 April 2021.
The 17-year old Jöbstl and Josef Wilbers' 12-year old Hanoverian stallion Bodyguard (by Burlington x Pik L) came, saw and conquered winning all three classes. They posted 73.990% in the team test, 74.735% in the individual and 76.458% in the kur to music.
Following him in his wake was German Emma Caecilia Lienert, who brought two horses to Sint-truiden and . Coached by Polish Pawel Dobrawski, Lienert finished second twice with her long-time partner, 10-year old Rhinelander mare Lady Carnaby (by Lord Carnaby x Ehrentusch), scoring 70.101% in the team test and 71.765% in the individual test.
Aboard her second horse, the 15-year old KWPN bred Barack Obama (by Jazz x Abantos), she placed third twice (69,697% and 71,265%). Lienert opted to ride him in the freestyle and became the runner-up with 75,217%. Barack Obama is the second horse that Lienert took over from German young rider Luca Collin after FS Las Vegas.
The third place in the junior kur to music went to brand new combination, Dutch Micky Schelstraete on the massive bay licensed stallion Cachet L (by Jazz x Ferro). Owned by Mirelle van Kemanade, Cachet L represented Holland at the World Young Horse Championships in Verden in 2012 and 2013 after which he disappeared from the international show scene.
Schelstraete recently sold her junior horse Grand-Charmeur to the U.S.A. and now continues with Cachet L. The pair was 9th in the team test with 66,010%, fourth in the individual with 69.206% and third in the Kur with 73,575%
