From 21 - 25 April 2021 Hof Kasselmann is opening its doors to some of the best riders in the world to compete in strict, Corona-safe conditions at 2021 Horses and Dreams Sports Edition.
The schedule offers international CDI4* and 1* tours, CSI2* and CSIYH classes as well as a range of important national competitions and qualifiers.
Elite Starters' Field
Only riders, who are deemed professional athletes are eligible to start and stars such as Charlotte Dujardin, Carl Hester, Cathrine Dufour, Victoria Max-Theurer, Patrik Kittel, Juan Matute Guimon, Anna Kellnerova, Christina Liebherr, Athina Onassis and Gerco Schröder to name a few have made the trip to Germany.
The German representation also stands out for its high level: Isabell Werth, Jessica von Bredow-Werndl, Benjamin Werndl, Frederic Wandres, Helen Langehanenberg, Hubertus Schmidt and Sönke Rothenberger are on the dressage acceptance list.
“I can honestly say that this year we are welcoming a world-class starter field, the best we ever had,” reports show organiser Ullrich Kasselmann. “Riders use Hagen as an important test in this Olympic and European Championship year. We have approximately 600 horses here, spread over 20 hectares and stabled in smaller stable blocks to implement distance rules in the best possible way.”
Merrald Wins Prix St Georges
International riders took centre stage in the CDI1* - Prix St.Georges, Prize of Performance Sales International GmbH.
The class was won by Nanna Skodborg Merrald (DEN) and the Fürstenball stallion Blue Hors Farrell on 74.441%. In second place and 73.500% a regular guest at Hagen, Swedish Grand Prix rider Patrik Kittel with Bergsjoholms Valbonne (Blue Hors Zack x Epson). Third place went to the Beatriz Ferrer-Salat (ESP) riding Dark Rose De Fangar ahead of young Australian rider Tayla Desmet and former P.S.I. Auction horse Zaubermaus (Zonik – Breitling x Freiherr).
