The Dutch young riders Don Clorentino des Paluds will not be contending for a team spot for the 2021 European Young Riders Championships in Oliva Nova, Spain. The horse has been sold to Germany.

Don Clorentino des Paluds is an 8-year old French bred Hanoverian by Juan de Hus out of Florencia (by Florestan). He is bred by Pablo Bouillot and listed as owned by Stephanie Bouillot's company Scea le Vieux Capeau.

Trained by Brouwer

As a 3-year old the chestnut was sent to The Netherlands to be trained by Dutch Kirsten Brouwer, who had already successfully competed Sultan des Paluds for his French owner.

Brouwer and Don Clorentino des Paluds competed at national level in Holland and twice rode the German selection trials for the 2018 and 2020 World Young Horse Championships, but were never team selected.

Zoe Kuintjes

In 2021 Brouwer allocated the ride on the small tour level trained Don Clorentino to working student Zoe Kuintjes. The new pair made its show debut at a Dutch youth training competition in Ermelo at the beginning of April and scored 68.18%.

Their international debut was two weeks later at the CDI Opglabbeek in Belgium, where they were 4th in the team test (69.02%), 7th in the individual test (67.402%) and 5th in the Kur (71.417%). Two weeks later at the CDI Exloo, they posted 66.961% in the team test and 70% in the individual.

Sold to Germany

Don Clorentino des Paluds has now been sold to German Nicole Hoffmeister-Kraut, who is the Baden-Wurttemberger Minister for Agriculture and Labour and an avid dressage rider. She is also a share holder of Bizerba, a family founded and owned business in machine construction.

The wonderful Don Clorentino is intended as a junior ride for daughter Teresa, who has bee competing Dark Louise (by Don Crusador x Longchamp) at L-level in 2020 and pony Navar (by Nibelungenheld II x Orcus) in 2019 at local shows in Germany.
