2021 Danish Pony Championships

Just two weeks after the 2021 European Pony Championships, Sophia Obel Jorgensen won the national title at the 2021 Danish Pony Championships held at the Hovgaard riding club on 26 - 29 August 2021.

The pony riders competed in two rounds, the team championship test and kur to music. The points of both rounds were totalled to decide the medals.

Denmark's best performing rider at the 2021 Europeans, double individual bronze medal winner Sophia Obel Jorgensen finished her pony time with her first national FEI pony level title. Aboard the 15-year old Rhinelander gelding Adriano B (by De Angelo B x Flying Dream) she received whopping marks of the judges: 79.641% in the team test and 83.525% for her freestyle, of which she rode several parts with one-hand.

The silver medal went to Cornelia Munch Sinding, who had a spectacular 2021 season making her international show debut and immediately getting qualified on the Danish team for the Europeans where she finished fifth. At the Danish Championships she and her 12-year old German bred Terbofens Charico (by Charivari x Contendro) placed second after two second places with 74.769% and 78.975%.

The bronze went to another rookie, Astrid Würtz Green on the 11-year old Mecklenburger bred Golden Boy (by Hesselteichs Golden Dream x Domingo). In her first year competing at international pony level, Wurtz did not make it on the team but certainly proved her worth for the future by landing third place at the Nationals with 73.384% and 74.375%.
