German Grand Prix rider Lisa Müller has announced that her rising GP star and breeding stallion D'Avie is sidelined after a breeding accident.

The 10-year old Hanoverian stallion (by Don Juan de Hus x Londonderry) injured himself to the hoof after he slipped.

"Our stable bling and exceptional D'Avie will not be available with fresh semen for the next few months," Müller took to Facebook. "During a test trial in preparation of the breeding season, D'Avie slipped in the breeding hall and fell dramatically on his side. We are happy that D'Avie, after immediate investigation, did not sustain any injuries that could be a problem for the long-term. With his fall he sustained an injury to the hoof, which requires a break to fully heal in the next few weeks and months."

Müller, who made her international Grand Prix break through on Stand by Me (by Stedinger), premiered D'Avie at international Grand Prix level at the CDI Munich in May 2021. She scored 67.239%. In August she rode him in his second international so far in Donaueschingen and posted 68.087%.

Bred by Dorothee Heitmuller, D'Avie is Hanoverian premium licensed stallion. He was bought by Andreas Helgstrand at auction in 2014 for 620,000 euro. He sold a 50% ownership share to German Gestut Peterhof two months later. The chestnut moved to Germany but only briefly stood up for stud there. In 2017, the stallion moved to back to Denmark and under Spaniard Severo Jurado Lopez won the gold medal at the 2018 and 2019 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo. Less than a year later the 8-year old made his national GP debut under Andreas in July 2020, before selling to Müller in August 2020.
