For Sure, Bundeschampionate Finalist and Former Premium Stallion, Sold to Portugal

Portugal

For sure, a 2021 Bundeschampionate finalist and former licensed stallion, has been sold to Portugal. He will continue his sport career under Portuguese Under 25 team rider Francisco Vila Nova.

For Sure is a 7-year old Hanoverian gelding by Finest out of Dorina (by De Niro x Weltmeyer x Bolero). He is bred by Günter Lindwehr.

Premium Stallion

For Sure was named a premium stallion at the 2017 Hanoverian Stallion Licensing in Verden, where Berhard Ruwe presented the stallion. The bay sold at auction for 360,000 euro to Helgstrand Dressage in partnership with Grand Ducal Dressage from Luxembourg.

He did his 14-day performance test in Denmark in March 2018 and scored 7.5 for dressage and 5.83 for show jumping to total 7.10 points.

In February 2018 he was approved for Oldenburg in a home licensing and that year he was offered at stud by his Danish and Luxembourg owners.

Palma e Santos

For Sure was never competed until he had sold to German Barbara Welding in the summer of 2020. She put the horse in training with Norwegian Antonia Christine Jacobsen, who is married to Portuguese Grand Prix rider Nuno Palma e Santos. The couple is based at Gut Klevendeich in North Germany.

For Sure made its show debut in September 2020, as a gelding, at a local show in Scharnebeck. He competed at L-level.

In 2021 Antonia and For Sure showed in the Bundeschampionate selection trials with success and qualified for Warendorf. They were 9th in the finals at the 2021 Bundeschampionate for 6-year olds after a third place in the consolation finals.

Vila Nova

For Sure has now been sold as a future prospect for Francisco Vila Nova.

The 23-year old Vila Nova has represented Portugal on Westfalian gelding Sir Saburo (by Sir Donnerhall x Ehrentusch) at the 2019 European Young Riders Championships and at the 2020 and 2021 European Under 25 Championships.

His family owns Coudelaria Vila Nova, a Lusitano breeding farm and equestrian centre near Porto.
