German professional Grand Prix rider Stefanie Wolf has decided to leave her employer of 15 years, Johann Hinnemann. Wolf will set up an independent business in Munster.

She has rented boxes at equestrian centre Stapelskotten to begin a new chapter in her career.

Hinnemann's Krusterhof

The 38-year old Steffi Wolf knew horses would be her life and became a certified bereiter after an apprenticeship with Hans-Theo Henschenmacher.

She then rode for Dolf-Dietram Keller (Bad Bevensen) and for four years at the Rhinelander breed society in Wickrath, where she was trained by Michael Fassbender. In December 2007 she got hired as head rider at Johann Hinnemann's Krusterhof in Voerde, Germany, and has been there ever since.

Under Hinnemann's supervision, she trained Sorento to Grand Prix level, but her forte lay in the careful, classical training of young dressage horses up the levels.

She trained and competed a huge string of horses, including Dancing Dynamite, Do it My Way, Stanford, For Comtess, Weihcera, Rockman, Weihegold, Rocky Lee, Elton John, Saphira Royal, Matchball, amongst many others.

She has competed at no less than seven World Young Horse Championships, representing Germany.

Double Duty

With Johann Hinnemann often being absent from the farm and during the corona years almost him spending almost two years in California, Wolf had to manage the entire yard, stallion station and training of the horses alongside Johann's daughter Tina Hinnemann.

At this point she already began working with a new trainer, Christian Wendel, but has lately been coached by Johannes Augustin.

New Chapter

For months, rumours of Wolf's departure from Krusterhof had been going round. The rider now confirmed to Eurodressage she is taking the plunge.

As of this month she is relocating to Stapelskotten, where she will start her own business. She is bringing along stallions San to Alati, Ellis NRW, For Gold OLD and Extra Gold, which will be offered for breeding via Holkenbrink stallion station.

"I worked for Hinnemann for 15 years and am very grateful for this time," Wolf told Eurodressage. "I have a long and close friendship with Tina and I am very happy that we will continue our cooperation in the future. My dream has always been to have my own company at some point and I will now make this dream come true because I think it’s the right time."
