Danish based Spaniard Severo Jurado Lopez has sold his number one Grand Prix horse in the barn, Dahoud. The dark bay gelding has moved to Austria as the new ride for Diana Porsche.
Dahoud is a 9-year old Hanoverian by Desiderio out of Weltmariechen (by Weltmeyer x Grenadier x Washington). He is bred by Klaus Michaelis in Germany and named after a soccer player of Barussia Dortmund.
Jennifer Nagel
Dahoud first came into the spotlight as a 2.5 year old when he was presented and accepted at the 2016 Hanoverian stallion licensing. He never did his performance test and did not stand up for stud.
Instead owner Jennifer Nagel focused on sport and first competed him as a 5-year old in 2019. In 2020 she rode him in one Bundeschampionate qualifier in Donzdorf and placed fourth.
Severo Jurado Lopez
Nagel sent Dahoud to Denmark to be trained by Spanish Olympian Severo Jurado Lopez in 2021.
In December 2021 the pair was showing at Inter I level and by February 2022 Jurado already jumped to Grand Prix level with the rising 8-year old.
Their international Grand Prix debut followed a month later in March in Herning, where they posted 69.544% (5th) in the Grand Prix. They also competed at the CDI Aalborg in May and at the CDI-W Zakrzow in Poland in October, where they twice finished second behind Ingrid Klimke on Franziskus.
Shopping in Denmark
Porsche recently went on a shopping trip to Denmark where she secured Dahoud as well as a 5-year old youngster, For Music (by For Romance x De Niro).
At Helgstrand Dressage, Porsche bought For Music as a young addition to her string.
Porsche runs her own barn in the Salzburg area and has 15-year old Grand Prix horses Douglas (by Johnson) and small tour horses, 8-year old Kentucky (by Desperado x Jazz ) and 7-year old Lady Gaga (by Negro x Olivi). Her youngsters are Lord Franklin (by Franklin x Lancelot) . The latter she also bought at Helgstrand after selling her old GP schoolmaster Chrevi's Ravello to him. That liver chestnut is now in Spain with Leida Collins-Strijk with whom Porsche has trained for many years. Diana now trains with Diederik Wigmans.
