French team rider Antoine Nowakowski has sold his number one Grand Prix horse, Quater Girl, to Austria.

Quater Girl is a 10-year old Hanoverian mare by Quaterhall out of Donnerfee (by Don Henrico x His Highness x Longchamp). She is bred by Johann Aldag.

In Germany, the mare's name is spelled as "Quatergirl" but she competed under her FEI name Quater Girl.

The chestnut mare first came into the spotlight in 2019 under the Belgian based Frenchman Antoine Nowakowski, who discovered her via Melanie Pons.  Antoine and Quater Girl became the reserve champions at the 2019 Belgian Young Horse Championships in the 6-year old division.

In 2020 they became the reserve champions at the 2020 French Young Horse Championships for 7-year olds in Le Mans. She was nominated for the 2020 World Young Horse Championships, but that event got cancelled due to covid.

In 2021 they made their international show debut at the CDI Le Mans at medium tour level and in April 2022 they had a winning Grand Prix debut at the CDI Sint-Truiden in Belgium.  Last year they competed at CDI's in Le Mans, Jardy, Meerle, and Deauville and attracted the interest of the French team selector Jean Morel.

Nowakowski and the 9-year old Quater Girl represented France at the 2022 World Championships in Herning, where they finished 76th with 65.854% in the Grand Prix. They finished the year with further CDI starts in Ludwigsburg and Mechelen

Sold to Austria

Instead of aiming for the 2024 Paris Olympics, Nowakowski has decided to sell his mare. She will move to Austria.

"My lovely Quaty, I consider myself the luckiest guy on earth," Antoine took to Instagram. "You crossed my path 6 years ago and literally changed my life. My only goal with you was to do my very best to let you shine and show the world how unique and incredible you are. My horse, I hope I succeeded. I can tell I did the best I could even though I’m sure it wasn’t enough for such a talented horse."

The new owner and rider is Juliane Jerich.
