Hexagon's Double Dutch Sold to Turkey

Dutch team rider Thamar Zweistra has sold her number two Grand Prix horse in the barn, Hexagon's Double Dutch, to Turkey. The chestnut will continue as a schoolmaster for Turkish rider Rotem Ibrahimzadeh.

Hexagon's Double Dutch is a 15-year old Dutch warmblood stallion by Johnson out of Ushimanda (by (Rubiquil x Matador II x Sultan x Doruto). He is bred by Leunis van Lieren

Under Thamar Zweistra the stallion made its international debut at Grand Prix level at age 9.

In 2016 he competed in two CDI's at medium tour level in Nice and Biarritz. In 2017 he moved up to international Grand Prix at the CDI Nieuw en St. Joosland, where he finished 21st in the Grand Prix (67.500%). These results made him achieve a breeding licence with KWPN through his sport results. 

As of 2018 the pair became squad listed and represented The Netherlands in CDIO Nations Cups in Falsterbo, Uggerhalne, and Aachen. The pair finished 8th at the 2019 Dutch Grand Prix Championship. They rode in numerous World Cup qualifiers and in 2021 they were long-listed for Dutch team selection for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

At the 2022 Nationals they were eliminated in the first round and ended up sixth in the consolation class. In 2023 the pair competed in Basel and Doha.

Double Dutch has now been sold to Turkish Grand Prix rider Rotem Ibrahimzadeh, who trains with Morgan Barbançon. 

The 27-year old Rotem made her international show debut in 2009 in the Balkan Games in the Children division on pony Highlight (Halenkino. x Nalet) and in 2010 competed at the European Pony Championships with Flamenco Star (by Flying Dream x Danny Black).

In 2013 she made the transition to junior level on Risander (by Krack C x Renville) and Voice (by Ro-Lex x Jazz) and as of 2017 was competing at Young Riders' level with Z.Floris (by Future x Hamilon), which she took to the 2017 European Young Riders Championships in Roosendaal, but got eliminated. 

A five year break from international competition followed and Rotem returned in 202 at medium tour level with Hero VDT (by ). Her Grand Prix debut was in Wellington, Florida, this year at the Global Dressage Festival. Alongside Hero VDT (by Conteur x Wynton) she also campaigned Glorieus (by Apache x Valdez) at Grand Prix level, both in the senior and amateur tour.
