The KWPN breeding society and Dutch equestrian federation held its third and final team selection trial for the 2023 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo and has named the team horses.

The third trial took place in Ermelo on 3 - 4 July 2023 after a second one in Ermelo in June and the first one in Nunspeet in May.

The selectors had picked 12 horses in the 5 and 6-year old division and nine 7-year olds for the short list from which the team was selected.

Biggest absentee was Nashville Star, the KWPN performance test winner of 2022. He had been withdrawn before the third try by rider Dinja van Liere as he was considered not ready for the task. Hans Peter Minderhoud is the most "successful" rider of the selection with three of his horses picked for the WCYH.
