The stallions Serupgaards Cezanne and Nick of Diamond became the high scoring stallions in the 2023 North American Stallion Sport Tests. Cezanne was the high score champion after both tests.

The West Coast testing was on 6 - 8 October at Pollyrich Farm in California, followed by the East coast testing  at Hilltop Farm in Maryland on 10 - 12 October 2023.

The judges panel this year included Gerd Sickinger, Matthias Granzow, and Floor Droge with Josef Freese serving as "dressage expert." The test rider was Inga Hamilton (west coast) and Jessica Wisdom (east coast) for the dressage horses.  Maren Schlender was in attendance as a representative for the German Equestrian Federation.

The American Hanoverian Society. (AHS), the Hanoverian Verband (HV) and the German Oldenburg Verband (GOV) supervise this NA Stallion Sport test, open to 4, 5, 6, and **7-year old stallions from the AHS, GOV, and other registries. The testing, run by the North American Stallion Sport Test LLC, provides North American stallion owners with an opportunity for their stallions to earn lifetime breeding approval according to the regulations of their specific registries. For most registries, the stallions need to complete this testing twice to finish their sport requirements for a lifetime license.

West Coast: Serupgaards Cezanne

In sunny California, six dressage bred stallions participated in the testing, of which two were bred and born in the U.S.A.

The high scorer of the testing was the Danish warmblood bred Serupgaards Cezanne (by Torveslettens Sylvester x Romanov x Idocus). He scored 8.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 9 for rideability and 8.5 for general impression. This totalled 8.75 points which was the highest score on the West coast as well as made him the overall champion. He is bred by Heidi Bickham, who sold Cezanne as a foal to a German horse dealer Kerstin Klieber. He is now owned by Richard and Linda Nickerson and in training with Willy Arts at DG Bar ranch. Arts and Cezanne finished fourth at the  2023 U.S. Young Horse Championships for 4-year olds in August. The black stallion is Oldenburg licensed.

The runner-up was the American bred Oscar HF (by Benicio out of Valeska DG (by Krack C x Farrington x Doruto)) who finished on 7.65 points. He received 6 for walk, 8 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8 for rideability and 7.5 for general impression. This chestnut with blaze is bred by Ingrid Hamar and owned by the Dynasty Dressage Group. The stallion is also based at DG Bar Ranch.
