German Youth Team Horse Blickfang HC Secured by German Junior Rider

Blickfang HC, Anna Middelberg's four-time German youth team horse, has been secured by a new rider. The liver chestnut will continue his sport career with German junior rider Capri-Marie Raum.

Blickfang HC is a 12-year old Hanoverian by Belissimo M out of Berle (by Brentano II x Paretison). He is bred by Theodor Linnenbäumer.

Belgian Owned

At the start of his sport career, the liver chestnut was owned by Anemone Samyn of HC Stables in Belgium.

Blickfang HC made his show debut under Anna Sophie Fiebelkorn, but in 2015 moved to Wibke Hartmann-Stommel's yard. Under Wible, the chestnut gelding won the Hanoverian Young Horse Championships in Verden, Germany, in the 4-year old mares and geldings class. At the 2015 Bundeschampionate the combination finished fourth.

Christina Boos

In the winter of 2015-2016 the horse sold to Christina Boos and he moved to Gut Waiglschweig near Munich.

She premiered him at A-level in April 2016 and quickly took him to L-level. They did their first M test in March 2017 and by June 2018 he first showed at Prix St Georges level. Boos confirmed the horse at small tour level and last showed him in September 2018.

Anna Middelberg

The horse sold to the Middelberg family for junior rider daughter Anna.

Their competition debut was in January 2019 and their international show debut was the CDI Sint-Truiden in April 2019 where they finished fifth, third and seventh. They were third at the 2019 Preis der Besten and secured a team spot at the CDIO-J Hagen. At the 2019 European Junior Riders Championships there was team gold and they were fourth individually. They won bronze at the 2019 German Junior Riders Championships.

Since then, Middelberg has been a fixture on the German team. They returned for the 2020 European Junior Riders Championships in Pilisjaszfalu they won team and individual gold and kur silver. There was silver at the 2020 German Junior Riders Championships.

In 2021 they moved to Young Riders level and at the 2021 European Young Riders Championships in Oliva Nova they got team silver but were 10th in the individual test and didn't move into the freestyle final. They skipped the 2021 German YR Championships. In 2022 they were unable to ride themselves on the team, but scored bronze at the 2022 German Young Riders Championships.

In 2023 they came back and won team silver at the European Young Riders Championships in Pilisjazfalu and were 9th and 10th in the individual test and kur to music. They did not compete at the 2023 German Young Riders Championships.

Capri-Marie Raum

Blickfang HC has now found a new rider in Capri-Marie Raum.

Raum began her international dressage career in 2022 at the CDI Achleiten aboard her current number one, the 12-year old Oldenburg mare Echt Stark (by Royal Highness x Fielmann).
