The grey Proud James became the high scoring stallion of the 2023 KWPN Stallion Performance Testing which concluded in Ermelo on 11 December 2023.
Nine colts began the 21-day autumn testing on 20 November 2023 and one dropped out mid-way (Perle). All other eight successfully completed the testing.

The high scorer in the lot was Proud James (by Jameson x Johnson x Variant) who scored a total of 91 points. The grey is bred by Yolien van Maasacker and owned by Helgstrand Dressage, who purchased the stallion as a 2.5 year old before the 2023 KWPN stallion licensing, where he was named premium stallion. He was first trained in Denmark by Alvaro Conesa de Oliveiro before moving to the German brand where Maxi Kira von Platen took over the reins.
Proud James received 9s for walk, trot, canter, rideability and potential and a 10 for self carriage and suppleness.
"This grey stallion has incredible balance, a very good technique of moving and with a very good, engaged hindleg. He has an uphill tendency and a fantastic character," said Bert Rutten.
Pjethro aka Pjento Naomie
The second best scorer was Pjento Naomie (by Kjento x Desperado), bred by A Beerens. He was one of three colts that stallion keeper Gert-jan van Olst saw successfully complete the testing and earn the licensed status.
The stallion licensing committee decided to not honour the original, intended name of the horse and rebaptised him Pjethro. He score 87 points. They in fact changed the names of five of the eight stallions.

- 6. Powerbank (by For Ferrero x Ferdeaux) - 80.5 points (originally named Potencion)
- 7. Pablo Picasso (by Taminiau x Florencio) - 80 points
- 8. Princedale (by Glamourdale x Don Schufro) - 76 points (originally named Princeton)
