Canadian Olympian Lindsay Kellock has sourced a new Grand Prix hopeful in Belgium, a horse named Kensington.
Kensington is a 9-year old KWPN stallion by Vivaldi out of Wild-Rose (by Sir Sinclair x Gribaldi). He is bred by J.A. Sassen in The Netherlands.
Julie Dossin
As a foal, Kensington finished 13th at the 2015 KWPN Foal Championship in Ermelo.
He sold to Belgian Julie Dossin as a youngster and in 2020 Dossin rode the Belgian selection trials for 2020 World Young Horse Championships. She rode him up to Prix St Georges level with a few national starts in Belgium.
Dossin's trainer Jeroen Devroe received Kensington in training sixth months ago and schooled him to Grand Prix level.
Lindsay Kellock
Kensington has now joined Team Enterprise, the stable of Canadian Grand Prix rider Lindsay Kellock in Wellington, Florida. He has been acquired by sponsor Melissa Schiff.
"He has started his journey to us and we can’t wait for his arrival," said Lindsay. She told Eurodressage that he is "training everything from Inter 2. Melissa Schiff of Enterprise Equestrian bought him for me to develop and compete. There are no immediate plans to compete him yet, just get to know him and see where we can go."
Kellock represented Canada at the 2021 Tokyo Olympics aboard Sebastien, where they posted 65.404% in the Grand Prix to place 50th. In 2022 they aimed for the World Championships but health issues led to an early retirement from sport. Since then, Kellock has been producing Lisa Apa's 12-year old Hanoverian bred Tu Le Merite (by Totilas x Sarkozy) to Grand Prix level. She has declared him as a Canadian Olympic team contender for Paris.
"I do plan to start competing soon in the Grand Prix," Linsday said about Tu Le Merite.
