Irish team rider Sorrell Klatzko has put her number one Grand Prix horse Turbo in training with Stefanie Wolf in Germany. The new pair has already put its new partnership to the test and made their show debut.
Turbo is an 11-year old Westfalian gelding by Totilas out of Falballa (by Florestan x Ehrentanz x Graf Spee). He is bred by Gudrun Isenbeck-Geue.

The bay gelding sold to Ireland's Sorrell Klatzko as a youngster and she trained him up to Grand Prix level.
The pair made its national show debut in October 2018 when Turbo was five years old. She moved him up to Advanced Medium level in 2019 and they did their first PSG - Inter I test together in September 2020. They premiered in the Intermediaire II in March 2021 and did their first Grand prix test three months later at Redhills Stud in June 2021.
Their international Grand Prix debut was one month later at the 2021 CDI Herzlake, followed by Samorin, Hagen and Waregem.
In 2022 Sorrell sold an ownership share to former racing car driver and event rider Janine Shoffner of Flying Horse Farm. She retained the ride and after campaignng in Sint-Truiden, Kronenberg, Hagen, Jardy, and Grote-Brogel they were nominated on the Irish team for the 2022 World Championships in Herning. Unfortunately they were eliminated in the Grand Prix as the judges deemed Turbo was unlevel. The pair trained with Johann Hinnemann in Germany at the time.
Sorrell and Turbo returned to international competition at the CDI Kronenberg Indoor in December 2022 and competed in Lier, Geesteren, Hagen, Jardy and Hartpury to reclaim a spot on the Irish team for the 2023 European Championships in Riesenbeck. However, lightning struck twice on the same spot and Turbo struggled to pass the vet check. The horse was withdrawn before the Grand Prix.
Stefanie Wolf
Klatzko recently welcomed a second Grand Prix horse into her barn, Rock My Heart. After two failed Championship attempts Sorrell went back to the drawing board with Turbo.
"I believe a great horse is created by several good dressage riders and Steffi is one of my best friends," Sorrell told Eurodressage. "She is such a great rider and great horse woman. When she offered to help me, give him more experience and give him a chance to be based in Germany with all the top shows nearby I couldn't say no. I really miss him but it's really exciting."
Sorrell is thrilled that Stefanie agreed to fine-tune Turbo's Grand Prix skills under the supervision of her trainer, Johannes Augustin.
"Sometimes as a rider, the best training and support you can get for your horse is having another super rider on him. She is such an incredible rider and deserves to sit on a horse like that and take him to the next level," Sorrel stated.
Wolf made her show debut on Turbo at the CDN Borken on 11 February 2024 and finished third in the Grand Prix with 71.711%
