Claude Pelardy, a long-time supporter, horse owner and sponsor of dressage in France, has passed away on 14 July 2024.

A key player in Dressage in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes and well beyond the regional borders, Claude passed on his love for horses to his daughters, dressage riders Bertille and Perrine Pelardy, and granddaughters Anna and Ninon Dupuy-Pelardy.

Claude played a crucial role in the organisation of numerous dressage competitions, including the first International Junior and Young Riders Competition in France in 2000 and the regional Dressage championships in Saint-Nizier-de-Fornas  in 2007.

Claude Pelardy was also a generous and loyal partner of the French Dressage Championships and the many CDIs organized by the ENE - Cadre Noir de Saumur. He had a great friendship with Philippe Limousin, equerry of the Cadre and organizer of these prestigious events. He generously supported the Equimasters Dressage , the Championship of the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region that he was keen never to miss, where he saw his grandchildren start.

Claude was also an outstanding business man. He founded STOF in 1987, a specialist in household linen and fabric by the meter. The company is now managed by daughter Bertille Pelardy (CEO) and his son-in-law Cédric Dupuy.

He leaves behind his wife Arlette, children and grandchildren.
