Austrian-Israeli dressage rider and horse owner Nicola Ahorner has re-connected with Daniel Bachmann Andersen for the training of Marshall Bell.
Ahorner bought the now 12-year old Danish bred Marshall Bell (by Don Romantic x Michellino) in 2022 after Bachmann won team bronze and placed 7th at the 2021 European Championships in Hagen with him. In 2022 horse dealer Andreas Helgstrand sold the horse to Ahorn and conveniently opened a spot on the Danish team for the 2022 World Championships in Herning. Ahorner, however, gave the ride on the gelding back to Bachmann to try for Herning. They were nominated on the Danish team which won gold in Herning.
After that Ahorner took over the ride and initially trained with Daniel in Denmark but then brought the horse down to Austria and began working with Karina Prochaska. Her coach won the Austrian Regional Championships on Marshall in September 2023. Nicola showed him at the CDI's in Exloo, Stadl Paura, Salzburg in 2023. As of 2024 Nicola began working with Imke Schellekens-Bartels and showed at the CDI's in Lier and Gossendorf. The latter show in March 2024 was their last CDI as a pair. Nicola is now training with Stefan Peter in Austria.
Ahorner has sent Marshall back to Denmark and will re-connect with Daniel for training after the summer holdiays.
"Marshall is having a little vacation at Daniel’s now," Nicola told Eurodressage. "I'll come and join them at a later date, eventually with Henio (Henderson) for a little bit of a training camp. Daniel also has some of my other horses in training, so it was an obvious choice."
Nicole added, "it always worked out great between the two of us on a personal level, but both of our schedules in the last year were more than hectic. I’m super happy to start again with Daniel."
Nicola also sent St Felice from Simone Pearce to Bachmann. He will continue the horse’s training.
