KWPN breeder Jan Nieboer has passed away at age 81.

Born in Groningen anbd based in Yde (NED), Nieboer was a true horseman whose life was marked by his passion for them. He was a rider, handler, instructor, judge, chair of the local breeding society and a very successful breeder.

His name is attached to the Molga dam line. The 1971 born mare by Willow Cratic x Compliment was the foundation mare in his breeding programme.  He acquired her as a 5 year old and  she had 16 foals, including KWPN licensed stallion Bergerac (by Nimmerdor). She produced mare Venice (by Lorenz), who was the dam to KWPN licensed stallion Beaujolais (by Lucky Boy) who in his term is the dam sire of Krack C. Molga received the predicates preferent and prestatie.

KWPN posted an obituary and wrote, "not only did Jan have a great deal of knowledge about horses, he also wanted to share that knowledge. His friendly and warm nature will be greatly missed. First and foremost by his wife, children and grandchildren, but also by other family, friends and acquaintances. Above his obituary was the message: 'You don't have to be so strong to hold on to something, but you have to be very strong to let go.' Always a difficult task."
