The bay gelding made his show debut in France at age 4 under Bruno Barros Mirando, followed by Bernardo Pires Flores Tome.
As of 2019 the ride was allocated to Mado Pinto who debuted him at international junior level in Le Mans in 2020. They were nominated on the French team for the 2020 European Junior Riders Championships in Pilisjaszfalu (HUN), where they finished sixth in the Kur to Musivc.
In 2021 they made the transition to Young Riders level and competed across Europe. They were a fixture on the French team and showed at the European Young Riders Championships in 2021 (9th in the Kur), 2022 (32nd in the individual test) and in 2023 (16th in the Kur).
Early Retirement
The 2023 Europeans in Pilisjaszfalu were Hot Bit's last international show. They won their third consecutive French Young Riders champion's title in November 2023.
In 2024 the gelding struggled with an injury and despite all veterinary care he never returned to full competition fitness.
"In agreement with Haras de la Gesse we have decided to offer him a well earned retirement," Pinto told Dressprod. "This was not an easy decision for us, but the welfare of our horses comes first. He has now moved to Haras, where he'll be turned out in the lush fields close to his dam. Hot Bit has been by my side for more than five years and it's thanks to him that I achieved my dreams."
