2024 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships

The 3-year old Fonzie, the 4-year old Quick Dream, the 5-year old Severucci HT, the 6-year old Vidar, and the 7-year old Buskhages Ramayana became the winners of the 2024 Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships held in Flyinge on 25 - 29 September 2024.

3-YO: Fonzie

The first title of the week at the SWB Equestrian Days was handed out for the 3-year olds. They were not presented under saddle but assessed in hand and in freedom. In this category no less than 48 horses participated.

Peter Månsson presented the Swedish stallion Fonzie (by For Romance II x Prestige VDL) to the win with 90.625 points. The horse got 9.2 for walk and trot, 9 for canter, 9 for perspective and 8.7 for general impression.

The runner-up was Einar Kristoffersen presenting the Swedish mare Fantastica (by King Olymbrio L x Tailormade Temptation) with 90.375 points. This bay mare got 8.5 for walk, 9.5 for trot, 8.9 for canter, 9.3 for perspective and 9.2 for general impression. Eva Fahlbrink landed third place with the Lena Nystrom bred stallion Discus (by Dream Boy x Quaterback) with 88.500 points.

4-YO: Quick Dream

Ten horses contested the finals for 4-year olds and Quick Dream (by Quaterhit x Benetton Dream) topped the board. Owned by Ingrid Axelsson, the dark bay gelding was presented by Minna Telde and scored a total of 93.050 points. He got 88.60 points under Minna and test rider Benjamin Werndl awarded the horse 9.5 for rideability and 10 for potential.

Erland Filipsson picke up silver with Kointreau (by Quaterhit x Hohenstaufen II), bred and owned by Degerhage Stable. The dark bay gelding was third under Filipsson with 85.800 points and Werndl awarded him the equal points to Quick Dream in the test round with 9.5 for rideability and 10 for potential. Kointreau was second with a total of 91.650 points.

The bronze went to Alicia Ryan aboard Tobias Hanson's Moricello II VH (by Morricone x Floricello) on a total of 88.400 points. The pair was second in theirround with 86.800 points and test rider Werndl put the stallion fourth with 9 for rideability and potential.

5-YO: Severucci HT

After winning bronze at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo, Jeanna Hogberg and Gabriella Grewin Bramberg's Severucci HT (by Secret x Rubinrot) won the national young horse title in Sweden. The pair dominated the finals with a big lead on the runner-up. The pair scored 8.5 for walk, 9 for trot, 10 for canter and 9.5 for submission and perspective to total 9.30 points.

Yvonne Osterholm and Per-Arne Persson's Soretto (by St. Schufro x Quaterback) claimed the silver with 8.72 points. This black gelding got 9 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8.8 for canter, 8.5 for submission and 8.8 for general impression.

Linn Larsson and Harabiargi AB's gelding Bank's Henry (by Springbank II x Zardin Firfod) finished third with 8.48 points. The bay gelding received 8.8 for walk, 8.5 for trot, 8.2 for canter, 8.3 for submission and 8.6 for general impression.

6-YO: Vidar

The WCYH finalists Anna Svanberg and Vidar (by Total Hope x Dalwhinnie) bested the field in the 6-year old division with a total of 9.62 points. The pair was a league of their own after receiving 10 for walk, 9.3 for trot, 9.5 for canter and submission and 9.8 for perspective.

Ebba Wallin Ivarsson and the gelding Fascinate KR (by For Emotion x Don Schufro) placed on the silver step of the podium with 8.56 points. The gelding got 8.5 for walk and canter, 9 for trot, 8 for submission and 8.8 for perspective.

Louisiana Tranberg picked up a second meal for breeder and owner Gabriella Grewin Bramberg with Severucci'd half sister Vici HT (by Van Vivaldi x Rubinrot). The pair got bronze with 8.18 points after receiving 7 for walk, 9.2 for trot, 8.2 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for perspective.

7-YO: Buskhages Ramayana

Sweden's serial young horse medalist Buskhages Ramayana was 14th in this year's 7-year old final at the World YH Championships, but on home turf the liver chestnut gelding bested the field and won the title. Linnea Holmgren and Buskhages Ramayana (by Revolution x Del Piero) scored 9 for walk and canter, 8.8 for trot and submission, 9.2 for perspective and 73.286% for the technical execution of the test. They totalled 81.443 for the victory.

Mikaela Alderin and the mare Emmylou (by Furstenball x Emmerton) picked up the silver medal with 78.800 points. They got 8.2 for walk, 8.6 for trot, 8.5 for canter, 8 for submission and 8.5 for perspective. They received 74.000% for the technical mark.

Emelie Aldenfalk and her own and Eva Madelen Bergvall's Valentino ER (by Vitalis x Robin) settled for third place with 78.429 points. The dark bay gelding got 8 for walk, 9 for trot, 8.8 for canter, 8.5 for submission and 8.7 for general impression/perspective. Their technical mark was 70.857%.
