Swedish Olympian Minna Telde will be sidelined for a while after sustaining injuries due to a fall in the prize giving ceremony at the 2024 SWB Equestrian Days in Flyinge.

At these Swedish Warmblood Young Horse Championships on Saturday 28 September 2024, Telde had won the national title in the 4-year old division aboard Quick Dream (by Quaterhit x Benetton Dream).

Her fifth placed horse, Braxton Boyd G  (by Kjento x Black Coffee) , got a little frolicky in the lap of honour and unseated the rider.

"Not my most prideful moment," Telde explained. "A week in hospital x-rays, MR and examinations is not my cup of tea. A broken vertebra with some complications is the verdict. A loooong way back in the saddle. That’s really hard for me."

The 49-year old Telde was member of the Swedish team at the 2012 Olympic Games in London aboard Santana (by Sandro Hit x Rubinstein). Since then she competed Don Charly, Deinhardt, Isac, and Praestemarkens Quatero at international Grand Prix level. Most recently she presented the palomino Zucchero (by Zafferano x Ampere) at the 2024 World Young Horse Championships in Ermelo.
